Cold Leg LBLOCA uncertainty analysis using TRACE/DAKOTA coupling

Abstract Safety analyses for nuclear power plants were carried out in the past using a conservative approach. With increase of phenomenological knowledge, through experimental data, and computational power, it became possible to adopt best estimate thermal- hydraulic system codes perform deterministic safety analyses. However, some uncertainties are still present models, correlations, initial boundary conditions, etc. Therefore, is fundamental quantify uncertainty calculation. This approach called “Best Estimate Plus Uncertainty” (BEPU). Among available analysis methodologies, probabilistic method propagate input widely adopted. In study, an cold leg large break loss coolant accident generic PWR-900 MWe has been developed coupling code TRACE quantification tool DAKOTA SNAP environment/architecture.
